Mi Academy — Specialty 2
Champion Development
Master the P-E-O framework and learn to move champions from first contact through participation, engagement, and ownership, and on to multiplying others.
What You Will Build
Your Ministry P-E-O Chart
Across these four courses, you will develop a Ministry P-E-O Chart: an organizational map of the pathways you have created for champions to move from Participation to Engagement to Ownership, across all five categories of involvement. This is a strategic infrastructure document, not a contact list. It shows what your ministry has built for champions to step into.

The Four Courses
From first contact to multiplication
Introductory
Introduction to P-E-O
The P-E-O framework describes how champions move from Participation to Engagement to Ownership across five categories of involvement: praying, giving, serving, learning, and sharing. This course introduces the framework, paints a vision for what champion development looks like in practice, and sets up everything that follows in the specialty.
30–45 min • Framework introduction
Foundational
P-E-O
This is the practical core of the specialty. You will learn how to map your current champions across the P-E-O grid, identify which pathways you have built and which are missing, and plan the next invitation for specific people. Mi Advisor will guide you through building a working Ministry P-E-O Chart for your organization.
45–60 min • Champion mapping, Mi Advisor drafting
Intermediate
Champion Development
Understanding what to do with a champion is different from understanding why champions move the way they do. This intermediate course explores the psychology of engagement, what causes champions to deepen their involvement or pull back, and how to lead a development process that is relational rather than transactional. Strategic frameworks and real-world case studies throughout.
60–75 min • Strategy and lifecycle
Advanced
Multiplication
The highest expression of champion development is a champion who develops other champions. This advanced course explores what it means to lead a ministry where Ownership-level champions are equipped to invite their networks, tell the story, and multiply impact. You will finalize your Ministry P-E-O Chart here and begin planning for the next generation of champion development leaders.
75–90 min • Theology and multiplication
"The goal is not to move every champion to Ownership. The goal is to know each person well enough to invite them into the pathways that fit who they are."
