Mi Academy — Specialty 3
Communications
Build the case for support that powers every message, appeal, and conversation your ministry will ever have. Everything else in communications flows from this foundation.
What You Will Build
Your Case for Support
Across these four courses, you will develop a Case for Support: the foundational document that articulates who you are, what you do, why it matters, and why a champion should invest in your work. This is not a brochure. It is the master source document that gives every email, every appeal, every conversation, and every event a consistent, compelling foundation to draw from.
Introductory
Draft it with Mi Advisor

Foundational
Deploy with a calendar
Build the communications calendar that puts your case to work across every channel.
Intermediate
Refine your messaging
Sharpen every message by understanding the difference between cause and organization framing.
Advanced
Finalize with champion voice
Complete the case and learn how Ownership-level champions become your most powerful communicators.
The Four Courses
From case for support to champion advocates
Introductory
Introduction to Case for Support
This course is unusual in the Mi Academy curriculum. Rather than just introducing a concept, it takes you directly into building your Case for Support with Mi Advisor. You will learn what a strong case includes, why it is the foundation for all your ministry communications, and leave with a working first draft you can refine in every course that follows.
45–60 min • Drafting with Mi Advisor
Foundational
Communications Calendar
A great Case for Support does nothing sitting in a folder. This course teaches you how to deploy it: how to build a communications calendar that integrates your case into appeals, newsletters, social media, and events across the whole year. You will leave with a complete calendar framework that makes consistent, compelling communication possible without burning out your team.
45–60 min • Calendar planning and deployment
Intermediate
Mission Messaging
Every message you send is either building your brand or building your cause. This intermediate course teaches the strategic difference, helps you develop language that keeps the cause at the center, and gives you tools for training your board, staff, and champions to talk about your mission in a way that actually invites people in rather than just informing them.
60–75 min • Messaging strategy
Advanced
Owners and Advocates
Your most powerful communicators are not on your staff. They are the Ownership-level champions who believe in your cause enough to tell their own networks about it. This advanced course explores how to equip champion advocates, how to give them language and platforms to use, and how to finalize your Case for Support as a document that champions can actually carry into their conversations on your behalf.
75–90 min • Champion voice and multiplication
"Your most compelling communicators are not your staff. They are the champions who believe in your cause enough to carry your story into rooms you will never enter."
